High School Superlatives for the Biggest Stars
School’s in session. Ticket Liquidator brings you the top musicians, athletes, and Broadway stars in the business to see who won Ticket Liquidator High School Senior Superlatives. Class of 2017, you ready?!
Best Eyes: Adele
Adele’s 25 is a gorgeous album. What marked another Adele era began with her album cover. A close up, similar to this photo shoot and similar to the cover of 21, shows Adele staring pointblank into the camera. Her beautiful, green eyes on full display like the album cover color in general. This Billboard photoshoot encapsulates her eye color in natural colors. The phenomenal singer is naturally beautiful regardless, and she wins the Best Eyes superlative.
Best Hair: Harry Styles
Harry Styles cut his famous long locks after One Direction decided to go on hiatus starting in 2015. It was like the announcement of the new, solo artist Styles. Shorter hair, more matured, Styles began building the blocks for his successful solo career. He is currently on his 2017 tour leg at intimate venues across the country. In 2018, he will tour with Kacey Musgraves at large arenas between June and July in the U.S. Styles has become a style icon and hearthrob. His new do is just one reason why his look says “twenty-first century rockstar” and earns our Best Hair superlative.
Best Dressed: Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s entire career is centered around music and fashion. Her outrageous outfit choices (the meat dress anyone?) landed her headlines across the world. Then, the Joanne era Gaga delivered something even more shocking than a meat dress: a toned-down Lady Gaga. Her wardrobe and style took a turn for the normal. Fans finally got the chance to get to know Gaga under the costumes. This look at the 2016 Grammy Awards was absolutely beautiful. Her new look, from punk rocker in cut-off jeans to gowns and glamour, make Gaga’s fashion icon status our Best Dressed.
Best Smile: Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is another pop star who underwent a lot of image changes in the past few years. After putting away her extreme Bangerz-phase twerking costumes, Cyrus is back and more relaxed than ever before. She has rekindled her relationship with Liam Hemsworth and just dropped her new album Younger Now. Something that went unnoticed during her wild phase, similar to Gaga’s costume phase, was Cyrus’s natural beauty. She has one of the biggest and best smiles in the industry. Cyrus wins Best Smile, and we hope she’s as happy with her life adjustments as she seems to be.
Most Likely To Become A Millionaire: Lonzo Ball
Lonzo Ball was born already a brand. His father, LaVar Ball, is the Kris Kardashian of the Ball family. He manages his sons and their brands like the pushiest manager one can find. It might be because he’s so focused on his sons excelling, but it also might be that his sons are where the money is at. Lonzo, on the other hand, is a star basketball athlete. After playing for UCLA in college, he got drafted to the Los Angeles Lakers (with LaVar’s pushing, of course). He is now set to begin his rookie NBA season this month. Lonzo’s skills are phenomenal, but his brand, from shoes to even the family’s own reality TV show, is due to LaVar’s focus on the business.
Lonzo also has two younger brothers, LiAngelo and LaMelo, who have begun plotting their careers, as well. LaMelo just dropped a signature sneaker at age sixteen. The Balls are also rappers with smaller careers in pursuit of the music industry. It is for these reasons (having a psycho dad-manager) that Lonzo lands on our Most Likely To Become A Millionaire. Fact is, the family already is.
Corey and Topanga: Jhene Aiko and Big Sean
Class Couple, or “Corey and Topanga” for us late ’90s kids, goes to Jhene Aiko and Big Sean. Big Sean is an overall good guy regardless of his hip-hop/rap game image. He pushed through a childhood in Detroit due to a committed mother and family life. Big Sean always knew there was a better future than gang life, and he pursued his goals to become an artist. Aiko pushed through a similar upbringing, becoming familiar with the danger of street life. She recently suffered the loss of her brother due to cancer. Therefore, the couple has individually been through a lot over the years.
Big Sean dated around for years while maintaining a friendship with Aiko, and Aiko did the same. Finally, the two tried to be a couple after being friends for so many years. Their collaborative project TWENTY88 was just the beginning of the couple’s next level. They’re adorable, committed, and in love. Those three aspects grant them the Corey and Topanga. I hope we’ll get to see them walk down the aisle in the future.
Most Changed: Kid Cudi
Kid Cudi has been through some serious stuff. After gaining fame, Cudi was opened to the press about struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. He stopped smoking weed or drinking years prior due to the safety of his child and himself. In 2014, he opened up about his struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. This stemmed from the end of a relationship; Cudi became addicted to anti-depressant medication prescribed during that time.
In 2016, after Twitter rants and attacks, Kid Cudi announced that he had checked himself into rehab for depression and suicidal thoughts. His latest album dropped in 2016 titled Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’. His changes due to fame and life circumstances make him the Most Changed. Hopefully, Kid Cudi is better than he felt last year. He is on his “Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ Tour” from October to November.
Class Flirt: Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars might be short, but what he lacks in height he makes up for with over-the-top swagger and persona. Mars is a born character. From his funky dance moves to his throwback sweatsuit attire, Mars rocks his ’80s artistic style like nobody else in the industry. This might be enough to win him flirt points, but what really makes him Class Flirt is his lyrics. Most songs about about wooing a woman, dating a woman, or proving his worth to a woman. From the animalistic “Gorilla” to the seductive “Versace on the Floor,” Mars’s catalog of music encompasses heat and passion. Mars loves his ladies, and they seem to love him right back.
Class Clown: Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber just barely beat out Lil Dicky for Class Clown. That is because, even when Bieber is trying to be serious nowadays, it’s still laughable at the way he handles himself. I’ll give it to him: Bieber’s lifestyle is genuinely tough in the sense that he can’t even step out his doorstep without being completely bombarded by parparazzi and screaming, screaming fans. It must be like an animal always in a zoo, always being watched.
However, his antics of growing up into a lot of career money through the sensitive teenage boy development years definitely hit him hard. From crazy car stunts to aggression with paps to his hot-and-cold father encouraging dumb behavior, Bieber’s been an on-and-off trainwreck. Everybody believed that he got it together when he released the phenomenal and apologetic Purpose. Yet, his onstage meltdowns and comments keep coming. Bieber needs an extended vacation, but as a listener and viewer, you can’t help but watch it all go down.
Teacher’s Pet: Niall Horan
Niall Horan is simply the good, old soul Irishman of One Direction. His solo career is underway with his debut solo album Flicker dropping in October 2017. He is on an intimate tour this fall before touring stadiums with Maren Morris next summer. Horan has no blips to his public reputation. He went along seamlessly with the fellow bandmates of One Direction. What asked about any beef, he’s typically quiet and political about it. Horan’s first single “This Town” was a pop guitar ballad reminiscence to a girl from his past. This sweet, sensitive side is Horan’s strength as the “good guy.” Horan would certainly be a Teacher’s Pet, following along to the rules and handing in his homework on time.
Most Artistic: Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys is one of the New York artists who has persevered throughout decades of her career. From her gorgeous voice and piano skills to her humanitarian efforts, Keys is a jewel of the industry. This also includes her artistic abilities, as she’s worked with most major artists in the world. She has won fifteen Grammy Awards over her career and sold 35 million records. The mellow persona and intellect of Keys is what makes her so special.
Her latest album Here dropped in 2016. It delves into her family dynamic and over-arches to worldly issues such as body image and racism. After explaining in a 2016 Lenny Letter, Keys vowed to go makeup free. This is just one way that Keys weaves in her social issues stances into her art. Keys exudes the persona of a mother as much as she does a painter or activist. This powerful, warm combination is why she remains popular and earns our Most Artistic award.
Life of the Party: DJ Khaled
DJ Khaled is a walking, talking brand. His Snapchat empire and music production skills has landed him in the epicenter of mainstream music. DJ Khaled is well-liked, fun, and positive. The birth of his child Asahd only added to his image; now, he’s a lovable dad who brings his adorable son everywhere with him. Matching sweatsuits required.
DJ Khaled’s recent hit “I’m The One” features Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, and Quavo. This is just one example of his comradery with the industry’s great talents. Everyone is wiling to work with him. His “Keys to Success” on Snapchat, mantras, and messages are as entertaining as they are truly meaningful. At any party, DJ Khaled can spin records and make sure everyone is having a great time. It’s in his nature.
Best Snapchat Stories: Florida Georgia Line
Florida Georgia Line’s two members might be married, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not fun. Brian (“BK”) and Tyler Hubbard grew their country careers at the intersection of country, pop, and hip-hop. The niche grew into an enormous fan base and career. Many other artists have bent genres between country and other mainstream music since. However, Florida Georgia Line was the first real success at crossing especially with hip-hop. Their first big single “Cruise” featured rapper Nelly on the loved remix.
Since then, they’ve released multiple albums that still focus on their country roots. In addition, they’ve toured and performed at countless country music festivals. Their latest tour welcomed a collaboration with the Backstreet Boys, as the BSB came on tour with them, as well. FGL opened a restaurant in downtown Nashville, and their identity keeps expanding. All of this fun since the boys acquired Snapchat in 2016 is found on their stories. Their goofy, playful personalities bode well for some hilarious Snap stories.

Class Einstein: Lin-Manuel Miranda
In 2015, Hamilton creator Lin-Manual Miranda was literally awarded the $625,000 MacArthur “Genius Grant.” He also won a Pulitzer Prize in 2016. Hamilton broke all kinds of theater records. Sixteen Tony Award nominations and eleven Tonys, the year of 2016 was one for Hamilton. But more importantly; the genius of Lin-Manuel Miranda. He has won three Tony Awards in addition to two Grammy Awards and an Emmy.
Before his hit Hamilton, Miranda also created the Broadway musical In The Heights. He co-wrote Disney’s Moana soundtrack. Miranda’s success career stems from his hard work ethic and fantastic imagination.
Most Dramatic: Bette Midler
Bette Midler easily wins Most Dramatic due to her over-the-top personality that granted her a long career on Broadway unmatched by many. Midler is currently starring in Hello, Dolly! until early 2018, so get tickets to see her live before it’s too late! Midler got her start performing at a gay bathhouse called the Continental Baths. Her unique features and star qualities built her a following in the ’70s, and Broadway found interest in her shortly after.
Midler has won three Grammys, four Golden Globes, three Emmys, and two Tonys. Her acting career is as expansive as her singing career. She recently won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for the revival of Hello, Dolly!
Desert Island Dream Date: Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez is the perfectly imperfect popstar. After shedding her Disney shell and beginning her music career, she leaned towards a standardly pop direction with earlier tracks. However, after gaining a better sense of her artistic self, she began to head towards less conventional pop. Seduction and fantastic production began to be her biggest assets. Revival showed a Gomez that knew who she was and began to follow it. In addition to this, her relationship with megastar Bieber was a huge source of media feasting in her early career years.
Then, after Gomez finally seemed to be coming into her own, she cancelled the remainder of her “Revival Tour” and went to rehab. Fans were shocked. It was later announced that Gomez discovered she had lupus and was suffering from anxiety and depression: two side effects of the disease. In 2017, she announced that she underwent a kidney transplant after releasing two singles earlier that summer.
What about this makes for the Desert Island Dream Date? Despite her beauty and outwardly perfection, Gomez is a real human suffering through real problems. She seems like a genuinely good and kind soul. To be around that sort of person and enjoy her for her perfect imperfections is worth the Desert Island Dream Date superlative.
Most Likely To Be Mad For Not Winning A Superlative: Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is the star of the 2017 NBA Champions the Golden State Warriors. Durant is extremely talented, and that was proven again over the course of his fantastic season and NBA Finals run. However, he was recently exposed for having multiple fake social media accounts. Durant would use the accounts to defend himself against bots and haters on Twitter and Instagram. This showed his lack of self confidence and ego faults.
Therefore, Durant easily wins the Most Likely To Be Made For Not Winning A Superlative award. Apparently, he’s more sensitive than anyone else realized.
Best Celeb Look Alikes: Mick Jagger and Harry Styles
The most trippy lookalikes out there. Harry Styles even impersonated the Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger on Saturday Night Live in early 2017. The ’70s rockstar and modern-day rocker have more in common that one would think. Though Styles comes from a pop boy-band background, both artists are superstars who have carved their own rockstar image for themselves. Both performing solo and with a group, Jagger and Styles acted as figureheads for the bands. Their floppy brown hair (Styles’ is now cut) and blue eyes garnered them a huge female following. Styles is the new general of rockstar.
Best Bromance: Blake Shelton and Adam Levine
This is beaten dead in the media, but Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have the best bromance of all time. They are both original coaches on The Voice, and since the beginning, fueled this love-hate relationship between the two of them. It’s entertaining to watch, so Levine’s shorter stature is tiny to Shelton’s height. It’s also fun to see two totally different artists come together and find a bond. That’s something rarer nowadays, and their consistent appearance on the show as friends is fun for viewers throughout the seasons.
Most Gullible: Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski is one of the most lovable and goofy athletes in the NFL. His skills are respected as a tight end for the New England Patriots. However, this fun personality and love of partying has garnered him a reputation off the field, as well. Gronkowski’s talent might be tremendous, but he doesn’t come off as the sharpest tool in the shed.
As much as fans love the athletic goofball, he wins the Most Gullible, assuming we could convince the happy-go-lucky guy of almost anything.
Most Quiet: Eli Manning
Eli Manning is the New York Giants’ quarterback. The Giants aren’t having a great season; that’s pretty obvious to say. However, Manning’s personality makes for a solid QB even if his on-field performance is less than stellar. Manning has few public image flaws on his record. In addition, he isn’t overly fiery in the press. The Manning brother leads a pretty normal, quiet life. Though this translates to a meh few years of his career, Eli isn’t one to stir up drama. He wins the Most Quiet superlative.
