Born in 1988 in South Korea as Kwon Ji-Yong, G-Dragon has wooed the hearts of many pop lovers through his captivating voice. Kwon started out as an apprentice under the YG Entertainment record label where he underwent tutelage before his breakthrough in the mid-2000s. In 2009, G-Dragon decided to ride solo, releasing his debut studio album titled Heartbreaker. The album was warmly received and went on to bag the coveted Mnet Asian Music Awards Album of the Year accolade. Its flagship song “Heartbreaker” was a hit, topping music charts for several weeks. A year later, G-Dragon partnered up with his former Big Bang colleague T.O.P. Together, the duo released an album called GD & TOP, which went on to the summit of the Gaon Digital Chart. Furthermore, Kwon’s first extended play (EP) unveiled in 2012, raking in record-breaking sales, which beat his record set by the Heartbreaker album.
