Co-Directors of the film Charlie Gorman’s Wake Paul Pender and Katie Morris are triple threats in their own right with writing, acting and directing credits to their names. Pender is the chief engine behind the film. As the playwright of the theatrical version of the story, Paul has brought an amalgamation of characters from his long history as a touring musician and pub owner to life in this romantic comedy about friendship and redemption. As co-founder of the Shoestring Theatre Company, Katie has years of experience translating literature for the stage and is collaborating with Paul on the adaptation of the play for screen. In the interview below, Paul and Katie talk about cast chemistry and directing for comedy.
